How To Donate

ELK is administered by the Copper Country Intermediate School District, which is a public school district exempt from federal taxation under IRS section 501(c)(1), i.e. a division of the state of Michigan, an instrumentality established by an act of Congress.

IRS Section 170(c) allows for charitable contributions to the public school district as: 

"A State, A Territory, a Possession of the United States, or any political subdivision of any of the foregoing, or the United States, or the District of Columbia, but only if the contribution is made for exclusively public purposes."

Monetary donations or grants should be made out to the Copper Country Intermediate School District (Copper Country ISD), and designated to ELK, and mailed to 804 Hecla Street, Hancock, MI 49930.  The district's taxpayer identification number is available upon request.
